May is the month for Resolutions. Each year, every WI is represented by a delegate at the WI National Federation’s AGM in June. We have to tell our delegate how we want to vote so at the May monthly meeting we discuss resolutions. These have been sent in by WI’s asking for national action and campaigning.
This year there are two campaigns:
- The first is about better care for people with dementia who are admitted to hospital.
- The other is about ways to avoid food waste and addressing food poverty in the UK.
The discussions are always interesting and you can often learn a lot, particularly if someone has personal experience to offer on the subject. So visitors are very welcome.
It won’t be all serious stuff. We’ve got a competition for ‘muffins, sweet or savoury to share’ and we’ll share them at the end of the evening with a cup of tea.
