Little Bears Pre-School

Little Bears Logo

Little Bears is a friendly, non profit making community pre-school for 2 to 5 year-old children. It based at St Leonards Parish Hall and has been running for over 25 years, caring for generations of children in and around the hilltop villages on the Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire border. It’s a warm and friendly pre-school dedicated to children’s learning through play and welcomes parents and carers involvement.

The staff organise the day so the children can choose from, and work at a range of activities. They also incorporate ‘carpet time’ where they sit down with all the children and talk through general topics, also giving the children the opportunity to tell everyone about their interests and activities outside of Little Bears.

The children get plenty of outdoor playtime (weather permitting) in the safe and spacious outside play area behind the hall. There is a large car park in front of the hall providing a safe drop off point for the children.

Pre-school sessions run from 9.15am to 12.15pm Monday to Friday, during term time only. We can also offer an earlier drop off at the hall from 9am, if required. There is an optional lunch club after the pre-school session for 1 hour from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.

Little Bears Lunch Club

In addition to the morning group, Little Bears also organise Lunch Club sessions every weekday between 12.15pm to 1.15pm. The lunch club offers children the opportunity to play together in a smaller, quieter group and choose their own resources.

Little Bears were graded as OUTSTANDING in all areas by OFSTED at their last inspection in January 2018.
